The Your Turf Story
Hi, I’m Grant.
I’ve been self-employed with the support of Lisa for 18 years of our married life. In 2013 we started Your Turf in Nelson where we began to focus on our landscaping passion of turf, with hydroseeding, irrigation and artificial turf.
Being able to provide a great lawn to our clients is very satisfying. As a family some of our fondest memories are playing with the kids in the back yard or coaching the kid’s school or club teams. Providing spaces through Your Turf for families to enjoy life together whether it be at home or at Kindy/School has and does bring a great deal of enjoyment.
A great lawn is part of who we are as Kiwis. With the busyness of life, having time to maintain that lawn space could easily take the shine away from the fun. Our products at Your Turf have received on going positive feedback from customers in adding to quality of life.
Artificial turf or ‘synthetic grass’ has come a long way in the last few years. We have seen that when clients have the samples in their hands, and can see or feel the products first hand, they do fall in love with it. Also being able to visit existing installations by Your Turf has enabled many to truly visualise how great their lawn space will look.
We love to hear the positive feedback and comments from our clients. Knowing that the work we do has gone beyond their expectations is extremely satisfying.
It’s great to be a local business, happily serving our local and wider areas to the best of our ability and experience. Nelson is our home, it’s where we have raised our children and where we want to continue being committed to our local community and friends.
We have provided turf at cost to a few local ventures including the adventure trampoline park “Flipout”. For the last ten years I’ve coached rugby and touch rugby teams throughout Nelson.

“Like all home owners we were a little worried that on removing the old lawn there would be a muddy mess around the house. We were surprised and delighted that all through the works everything was neat and clean. We were very pleased with the care Grant took even bringing in mats to protect our concrete paths when they removed the old lawn. Our lawn is an L shape and contained a drainage port but this proved not to be problem and the foundation and the turf were laid beautifully.
