Hydroseeding is a method of planting a lawn that uses a slurry of seed and mulch. The slurry is mixed on site in a Finn Hydroseeding unit, and sprayed over prepared ground.
Spray It Green – Hydroseeding slurry contains other ingredients to improve your lawn health including fertilizer, fiber mulch, and green dye. Our dye is eco-friendly and will not damage native New Zealand plants. The dye is used so that we can see where we have sprayed and ensure we have maximum coverage.

Advantages Of Hydroseeding Over Dry Seeding
Hydroseeded lawns come up faster. The contact of the seed with water will trigger the germination cycle, so it is likely that you will have a lush lawn in two weeks.

Advantages Of Hydroseeding Over Ready Lawn
Ready lawn is more expensive. It generally costs 3 to 5 times more than hydroseeding. Hydroseeding will often produce turf as nice looking as ready lawn within a very short time, at a significant cost savings.
With hydroseeding the new seedlings are grown on your soil. Ready lawn can have a problem with the type of soil it was grown on, not having sufficient compatibility with the soil it is planted on. This is called “not taking”.
With ready lawn, the roots are chopped off when transported to your house, resulting in a less healthy plant. Your hydroseed lawn germinates on your property, and its root systems go down deeper.
Ready lawn can shrink over the first month and if it is not installed properly gaps will open up between the sod rows.
Ready lawn requires a lot of care to ensure that it grows well.
